CeraVe Skin Smarts Skincare For Baby Baby Bag Essentials

What You Need to Know

When you’re ready to take your baby out in the world, a well-stocked diaper bag can help make being on the go easier. Here’s what to pack in your diaper bag.

The basics:

Of course, you’ll want to pack extra diapers, plenty of wipes, and hand sanitizer. As for how many diapers to keep in your stash, consider how long you’ll be out. Some babies need a change every few hours, so a full day on-the-go might mean having at least three spare diapers on hand. Also keep a tube of baby moisturizer cream handy. We recommend selecting one that is formulated with ceramides, which are naturally occurring lipids that make up about 50% of the lipids found in the skin’s barrier. CeraVe Baby Moisturizing Creamis is fragrance-free, paraben-free and formulated with hyaluronic acid. This cream provides hydration without a heavy or greasy feel, and is suitable for sensitive baby skin.

Extra clothes—for baby and you.

A spare outfit for baby is a must, but don’t forget about yourself! Accidents happen. Milk or formula, spit-up, a diaper leak can all demand an unexpected wardrobe change. Being prepared helps lower stress when a mishap occurs and keeps you and baby on track throughout your day.

Moisturize Baby’s Skin:

While you’re out and about, help protect and maintain baby’s delicate skin barrier with a lightweight lotion such as CeraVe Baby Moisturizing Lotion. It’s formulated with three essential ceramides, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and vitamins.2

Clean-up supplies:

Add in a few extra reusable plastic bags to stow wet or dirty clothes until you get home. Special odor-blocking diaper disposal bags—they come in a roll—are also ideal to keep on hand when you need to toss a dirty diaper into the trash. You’ll also want to keep an extra bib or burp cloth or two, to catch any dribbles or spit-up.

Sun protection:

Even if it’s a cloudy day in winter, it’s important to keep baby’s skin protected from the sun’s harmful UV rays. If your baby is six months or older, baby sunscreen helps to prevent sunburn when used as directed with other sun protection measures. CeraVe Baby Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion is a 100% mineral sunscreen developed with dermatologists and formulated with three essential ceramides. It’s a paraben-free product with SPF 45 protection. Plus, it contains niacinamide, which helps calm the skin, and 3 essential ceramides to help restore and maintain the protective skin barrier.

Plenty of snacks:

If your little one is old enough to eat solids, pack a stash of easy-to-eat snacks. From squeezable pouches to pretzels, raisins, or puffs to a clutch of granola bars, be sure and include a few items that you can snack on, too.

Little lifesavers:

You may only need them once in a while, but having a pouch with these few things inside will make you so happy on those rare occasions: A toddler-sized spoon and fork, a nail file, an emergency $20, a few bandages, a stain stick, and a pen.

When baby’s in tow, staying connected is even more important. Remember to tuck a fully-charged light-weight, portable charger/power bank and cord in your bag. That way your mobile phone will always be charged when you and baby are out and about.
